AC Milan star snubs Chelsea offer in favor of Rossoneri stay
AC Milan star Theo Hernandez has decided to reject the advances of Chelsea and extend his contract with the Rossoneri.
Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell suffered an ACL injury and has been ruled out for the remaining of the season. Losing a key starter is a big problem for coach Thomas Tuchel and immediately the Blues have turned their attention to the market. Tuchel’s top pick to replace Chilwell was AC Milan star Theo Hernandez.
Despite Chelsea’s interest and their economic capacities Hernandez has decided to refuse and stay at AC Milan reports The Guardian. The 24-year-old French defender will renew his contract with the Rossoneri soon and has never considered other options.
Journalist Nicolo Schira reports that Theo Hernandez will extend his contract with AC Milan until 2026. The former Real Madrid will earn around 4.5 million euros per year from the new contract, plus bonuses.
Hernandez has been one of AC Milan’s best performers since his arrival from Real Madrid in 2019. At that time the Rossoneri spent a considerable figure of 22 million euros to purchase the French defender with Paolo Maldini the biggest sponsor of his signing.
Immediately after his arrival Theo become a pillar of Stefano Pioli’s squad. This season the flamboyant left-back has scored 2 goals and assisted 5 in 20 appearances. Excellent numbers that testify his big contribution even in attack.
